Emergencies

It is important that you follow your orthodontist’s advice over how to look after your appliance. In particular, there are certain types of food (like sticky toffee!) that could damage your appliance.
Orthodontic treatment rarely has real emergencies! But it is possible that in between your normal scheduled appointments, you may need to be seen in a hurry to fix a broken bracket or loose wire.
All of our orthodontists make sure that they keep a small amount of time free in their appointment books so that you can be seen in a hurry if necessary. Just ring the practice and one of our Receptionists will discuss your problem with you and will then talk to your orthodontist to see if, and when, you need to be seen.
For out of hours emergencies, the Primary Care Trust manages an emergency service. This can be contacted on 0845 603 1410.
